CNC Milling

Haas VMC with 4th axis capability. Custom fixtures. Aggressive parameters. Real results.

Haas VF-2SS Super Speed

Our Haas VF-2SS is the workhorse of our shop. The "SS" stands for Super Speed — 12,000 RPM spindle, 1,400 IPM rapids, and a high-speed tool changer built for production work.

But a machine is only as good as the people running it. We don't just push buttons — we engineer solutions. Custom fixtures, shop-modified tooling, and optimized cutting parameters let us tackle jobs other shops turn away.

How We Run It

190 IPM feed rate. 1/2″ depth of cut. 3/8″ 6-flute endmill. These aren't numbers from a textbook — they're real parameters we run in aluminum. Fast, aggressive, and dialed in.

4th Axis Rotary

Need helical features? Spiral grooves? Indexed faces? Our 4th axis rotary attachment adds a whole new dimension — literally.

The rotary head synchronizes with the mill's motion to create features that would otherwise require specialized equipment:

  • Helical grooves and flutes
  • Spiral patterns
  • Multi-sided indexing — machine multiple faces in one setup
  • Wrap-around features on cylindrical parts

Not every shop has a 4th axis. We do — and we know how to use it.

Custom Fixtures for Efficiency

When you need more than a handful of parts, setup time kills your budget. That's why we design and build custom fixtures in-house.

Real Example: 18-Part Tapping Fixture

We needed to rigid tap 1″-8 threads in production quantities. Instead of loading one part at a time, we designed a fixture that holds 18 parts simultaneously.

Each part is secured with a single Mitee Bite Pitbull clamp. Despite the torque from that big tap, the parts don't move. One setup, eighteen parts, consistent quality.

Shop-Modified Tooling

Sometimes the right tool doesn't exist — so we make it. Problem solved.

Gear Hobbing

Need gears cut? Most shops would say "buy a hobbing machine" (and spend $50,000+). We said "let's make our own setup."

We fabricated our own hob cutter and designed a custom fixture to do gear hobbing on our mill. It's old-school machinist ingenuity applied to modern equipment.

This is what separates a real machine shop from a "push buttons and hope" operation. When the tool doesn't exist, we make it.

What We Mill

From soft aluminum to tough stainless, we've got the tooling and experience.

  • Aluminum

6061, 7075, 2024. Fast cycle times, excellent finishes. Our bread and butter.

  • Steel

    1018, 4140, 4340, 12L14. From mild to medium-hard, we've got it covered.

  • Stainless Steel

303, 304, 316, 17-4 PH. Takes patience and the right parameters — we have both.

  • Copper & Brass

C110 copper, 360 brass, phosphor bronze. Beautiful materials, beautiful results.

  • Plastics

Delrin, HDPE, nylon, acrylic, PEEK. When metal isn't the answer.

  • Exotics

Titanium, Inconel, tool steel. Harder materials = slower cuts, but we can do it.

CNC Milling Capabilities

  • 3D Contoured Surfaces

Complex curves and sculpted shapes machined to your CAD model.

  • Pockets & Cavities

Internal features with precise depths, wall angles, and floor finishes.

  • Rigid Tapping

Synchronized tapping up to 1″ diameter. Fast, accurate, no floating holders needed.

  • 4th Axis Work

Helical features, indexing, and wrap-around machining.

  • Gear Hobbing

Custom gears and sprockets using our shop-built hobbing setup.

  • Production Fixtures

Custom multi-part fixtures designed and built in-house for your job.
